TonyT
Well the title says it all... the vision is a Panzer 38T in a stream type bed that has either had the floor or part of the side blown out and has the stream flowing in through it so it is starting to rust upwards.. Now we all know that while excellent the 1/16 kit is bereft of any interior and having never scratch built anything before I dusted down the plasticard and thought I would give it a bash....So a first ever attempt at scratch building and rather than 100% accurate as I have no drawings to go by and even less inclination to be anal on the detail, I will begin. As this is a first ever attempt and not wishing to look a total plonker by starting the thread then coming undone I have built up an interiorish and started the painting process, more parts may well be added internally as I go along... Ohh and only my second or third attempt at rust too.. As you can see I have pushed the gearbox assembly across as a result of the explosion and tilted it slightly, this helps with its position in the fwd hatch, also the tube for the transmission shaft is distorted as I figured the engine would still be turning initially and the sheared shaft would beat the proverbial out of the housing.. additionally the radios are gone and one lies in the right hand well, the left seat has vapourised ( handy that, as it cuts down on the scratch building) but the seat base leg and part of the backrest remains scattered about. So the state of play to date and one hopes you like it. Edited August 30, 2017 by TonyT cib2265, Mark_C, Uncarina and 10 others

LSP_K2
Very cool. After buying the Squadron/Signal walk around book, I immediately threw a 1:16 kit onto my Amazon wish list.
TonyT
Thanks all for the kind comments, I have been playing around with the rust tones to vary them and also have knocked up a corroded ammo box and added it to the interior, I have also taken what I hope is a better picture, state of play so far. JohnW
Look's like its been sitting around for a while. Of course, fire does seem to accelerate oxidation.
Gazzas
Well, that is very cool. Of course, I prefer my Panzers alive and threatening. Still...nicely done! Gaz
TonyT
Yep the rust should end up underwater... that is the plan, hence why it is so bad. Edited September 6, 2017 by TonyT
