  1. Alain, this is simply amazingly beautiful !! I don´t know if you are happy with the results or just so-so, but....... that is a real beauty! and very inspiring for my little Academy Spit, that will be in similar markings.... Merci et á bientôt !
  2. Uh la lá ! I ´ve never been to Narbonne though I cross the frontier at Le Perthus, but I go every year to Castres for a couple of weeks (my wife is française). Trés bon travail ! Je te suive....
  3. It is an amazing job! I have thought many times of this project, but never got the PCM Spit , no luck..... I will copy some tricks for my Academy mk XIV (stalled at some point on the way to PR XIX)! And yes, it IS the most beautiful Spit version, if not THE plane.......... Greetings! PS: are you on the south of France? I visit Toulouse area- Tarn ....!
  4. Amazing job !! I ´m working on the Dauntless, but my detailing skill is far, far away from yours...I hate doing pits! Anyway, most of your fantastic detailing will be invisible, so....don´t go too far Cheers Alberto
  5. Matt, your Corsair is gorgeous! The more I look at Corsairs, the more I love the birdcage version. In light blue camo, they are special. Your painting and weathering are spot on, simply PERFECT. Best regards! Alberto
  6. This is incredible, Starfighter! An awesome build, I ´ll keep an eye on you! ...and will take notes for my 1/48 (dwarf) Viking Cheers
  7. Ok, I just found your new comments, sorry for the delay, Gents! Your opinions are very appreciated for this humble modeller.... Espen (HA1112) : Unfortunately I did no In Progress Thread, no pics, maybe a couple at the very beginning about the most difficult part: the nose (if I find them I will post for you). I started this thing a few years ago, so.... AFAIK, there are NO reliable drawings or plans on this plane...everything I saw were por profiles, or approximate plans, but nothing that you could relay on. So what I did was to analyze available pictures from every angle to make up dimensions and proportions of any elements on the nose area. This was difficult but not impossible, as I think I got it decently. Scratchbuilding the parts were more challenging, as I used whatever materials I had on hand, many of them bad ideas. Maybe I can post here later a drawing with the ideas or techniques I applied, just FYI.... Regarding Grey Matter conversion kit....it is only my opinion, but I think the same as you do...There is something strange when you look at it, but at this moment I do not remember what it was. Anyway, it is a very nice piece of resin judging by the reviews I read and you can build a very good replica without suffering the nightmares I did.... Best regards! Alberto
  8. Incroyable! I have one stalled...maybe now... Sorry for my bad french
  9. Wow! I'll be definitely restarting mine!
  10. I did enjoy to see it flying! It has a real jet fly, smooth, elegant, graceful. The turbines sound like a dream... cheers!
  11. Hi Derek. I saw the Saeta flying on a show last September in Madrid. I took a few close pics, if you are interested. And I have also a sheet from the Air Museum about this plane, with a drawing (not exactly a plan) and some pics. If you are interested, I will scan it for you. Very cool project! (sometimes I thought how to do it) Cheers Alberto
  12. Great project! All that resin stuff looks nice, anyway I am building the same model (stalled) with my own extras... I´ll be watching you !
  13. Hello gents! Did not expect a new batch of comments (all of them on october 28), from Italy, UK, and USA, and it is a nice surprise for me! Currently the Ha-1112 is on her belly, due to the weakness of the landing gear, not made for the weight of that heavy, heavy nose. And I was not happy with some small painted areas. Some days ago, before seeing these new posts, I was planning something to adress those issues. Maybe I ll start this weekend.... Thank you again! cheers, Alberto
  14. Thanks for all your good comments, one by one! Tomorrow I'll add some pictures under sunlight, and changing the lens,as I have a new camera and used the lens "for general purposes"... The model was modified without plans , only observation of photos in magazines or the web. The most difficult was to start because you have to place the axis in the correct place/level, so a little mistake leads you to an incorrect shape. I used plastic from an old Revell 1/32 me-262, cutting out pieces from the wings, with the shape of the ha-1112 nose side panels, giving them the right curvature. The same was not possible for the top panel nor the bottom (the chin that gave the name to this plane, as Buchón is a superlative for Buche=bulbous neck and stomach in male pigeons) . The side bulges were scratchbuilt basically from fuel tanks from a Revell Rafale 1/48, adding the bits that were distinctive on them, including a small eye-shaped aperture at the front end, with a grid inside. The exhausts were made from the kit ones, but heavily sanded and adding metal exhausts obtained from those cheap brushes...yes, the metal cane on them! Spinner is from a bottle cork, gave it the basic shape and covered in any modelling clay (for plumbing works is good enough) There was much experimentation and re-building. I know that I'll never do it again, I do not want to spend so much time again in only one model, but I know it is unique in this scale. All in all, I'm fairly satisfied. I will post more pics Greetings
