themongoose
Thunderbird #3 in the 1972 colors is finished! I used the #1 plane at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland Ohio as my role-model. Extras I used on this 1/32 Tamiya F-4E include the GT Resins Exhaust & Seemless Intakes, Afterburner Lights by Magic Scale Modeling, Cam Pro decals plus Eduard photoetch for the cockpit and canopy. All the bare plastic was primed with Citadel lacquer followed by Vallejo Model Air and Metal Color paints. The mirror shows it's true nature...Thunderbird #3 is really Frosty the Snowman! themongoose
Thank you much! I must have 8 or 10 threads on here for advice on different techniques for finishing. Lots of cudos to all for the help in making this the best I've ever done.

Guest Peterpools
Awesome F4 Thunderbird: beautiful finish and display. many years go, my wife Diane and I would make the yearly pilgrimage to the Reading Air Show and had the fortune to se the Thunderbird's perform in their Phantoms. Impressive doesn't come close and wehen they hit the afterburners, the sound was defining as Reading is situated in a valley! Peter
themongoose
My first Thunderbirds show they were flying the T-38's. No awesome power there but i came away impressed with how maneuverable they were. Peter That show in the valley must have been awesome!
