Likewise,

I'd concur with Erwin

the views on battleaxes product make me a little unsure of trying to get a hold of the EIII's bigger brother but regardless, your model looks superb and the figure is something we don't see a lot of here.

Maybe a new section on building , painting and detailing crew figures if we could find someone with the skill and willingness to do an article on this? I'm sure may modellers would like a bit of info on this subject?

thanks for posting your EIII.

Thank you both.

I can try to write an article about painting figures.

I´m not Bill Horan, but it is not SO complicated.

The only problem is my english.

I´m German, someone must take a look over the text.........

If you'd like to write and article explaining figure painting we'd be more than happy. There's no pressure to do this and if you submit it to either Brad Hagen or Chris Sherland I'm sure it would be well recieved

all the best

Great looking Eindekker there simmes! And the metal effect is right on.

If I might add some constructive critiques on the rigging.

First off I am no expert, however the rigging looks "loose" to me. Perhaps this is the way it was, I do not know. The primary reason I am brining this up is that I recently found an amazing solution for antenna wire that might be of use as a rigging solution.

EZ Line from Berkshire Junction

I used this on my last two builds and all I can say is I am never using anything else ever again :D It's easy to work with, and simply will not fail, break, or snap under wreckless force.

Again, the build looks great, and the above critique is meant to be supportive sir. If it is not welcomed I do appologize.

Chris,

this nylon stuff from the Williams bro. kits.

I put a heat source near them and then they look better. The Fokker is not finished!

The best stuff is 0,3mm steel wire for this.

You use this flex stuff?

Well, what do do when you build a plane with flat profiles?

Like the 1:32 air racer?

If you've tightened the rigging then my original post is moot :D

Please forgive me if I offered that critique out of step. I just love that stuff.

Wht do you mean by flat profile?

Chris,

planes like the Fairy Swordfish or a GeeBee racer have no round wire.

They have these flat rigging. It´s complicated to explain in english.

It´s a flat steel profil.Look at old GeeBee pic´s in the web.Than you see what I mean.

Look at the photo etched frame.

I think what he is trying to say Chris is that some biplanes were rigged with what was really metal rod flattened to a symmetrical airfoil shape to reduce drag. In this case, the elastic thread wouldn't be as accurate, though I was thninking the same thing as you when I saw it.

I gotta get me some of that stuff, I have been using threads pulled from old nylons, but it is sometimes difficult to get a good thread.
