Vampire or T33

Hi Brian,

Collect-Aire is bringing out any day now a P-80 and then sometime down the road a T-33 both in 1:32 resin, but very pricey. As for a Vampire, could the Matchbox Sea Venom be converted?

No Vampire I am aware of. There was once a vac conversion to make the Sea Venom into a Venom, I think by Combat models. I as still looking for one. It would be pretty tough I think to make a Sea Venom into a Vampire, there were a lot of changes.

As for the T-33, I just got today the new Collect Aire P-80C and after a quick look in th box, it looks real nice. I have a few other items I need to get built up first, but it is going to go high on the to-do list!

Brian

there was a kit a few years ago (ok about 20!) by I think, Maintrack. It was a Vamp Fb5/9 I think and was multimedia ( probably the first time that phrase was ever used) mainly vac. It might be possible to find one.

They did a tempest also with big plans that never came to anything.

Just a thought too, you'd have your work cut out literally doing a vampire from a sea venom. the swept wing for starters and the change to the vertical tails would put me right off!

Brian,

Have an idea for u and u'er thinking of doing a VAMPIRE.From looking at profile shots and etc. have noticed that the nose is more like the HAWKER HUNTER and even the intakes look the same as the Hunter. And i think the M2H EJ seat is the same from the pic's i have seen.Making the wings would be straight forward and same for the twin boom tail. The center section of the tail piece could be made of sheet covered balsa wood.Using .010th sheet plastic.Making the wheel and tires, would be from the Hunter again. The rear body section from the cockpit back, would be shaped bondo or a balsa block cut and fitted with again .010th sheet and the exhaust cone, would be a piece of plastisc tubing and with a burner cone at the end of the tubing. And of course,it's alot of work.Been scracthing the XB-43 and have come to a point of putting it on the back, back burner. The nose piece is like the A-26 Invader. It's kind of pointed.I'll figure it out.And later on,i'm going to send brad some pic's of my scractbuilt,AR-240C Nightighter. It was a wild build and got some of my ideas from u'er 219.Larry

Larry, again your amazing the way you can pull the pieces apart and put them back together again.

Hugo, thanks for the ID Models tip. I believe you are correct. Now I just need to find somebody selling one!

very nearly took the bait there Larry!!

ha ha

don't post this on HS though, you'll start a flame war to end all flame wars!

on second thoughts go on , make my day....

the Ar240 sounds like a real challenge, are you using the revell kit as a basis and scaling up proportionally, those ducted spinners look the business!

I'm working on and planning a large (1:16th)version of Earhart's Lockheed electra L10E and using the Williams Bros 53rd kit as a master.
