Sunday 13th March - Edgar's Wake...
Posted here as well as in the Obit thread because people are invited to take their Spitfire models - in case anyone here in the UK is close enough to attend. I'm hoping to get at least one of mine finished.
Arrangements have been put put in place to commemorate Edgar's life with a wake and Bring a Spitfire party at Thames Valley Scale Models Club at the clubs venue on Sunday 13th March from midday to 4pm. Liston Hall, Liston Road, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, UK.
We invite all his friends to come along for a few hours on the Sunday afternoon to join in with drinks and refreshments. We'd also like to put on a display of as many Spitfire models whether they be built or still in the their boxes, books and any other Spitfire memorabilia anyone wishes to share. Bring as many as you wish - we have room.
To help us eliminate some costs involved we'd also like to ask that anyone coming could also bring some kind of edible and/or drinkable contribution to share.
With their long term connection to the club we have asked Tony and Jan from AJ Aviation to come along with some goodies to tempt our wallets with.
There will hopefully be a free raffle with some very special prizes but this is yet to be confirmed.
Through one of our members we have also arranged a visit to see the restoration of Spitfire Tr Mk.8 MT818. This was a Spitfire which Edgar had supplied information for during it's rebuild. This will be arranged on the day depending on numbers.
So we hope you can come along a give your support and look forward to seeing you on the day!
Please be aware that there is a £1 charge in the public car park next to the venue.
May see some of you there...
