I am really not a fan of PE details sets for modern cockpits, but for WW2 aircraft cockpit, they can add a good amount of details to get a busy cockpit. The MDC cockpit is very good, but it is designed for the Hasegawa kit. I dont know if it is easy to adapt to the Trumpy kits, so i cant tell. I have not used the P-47N Eduard set yet (but have it in the stash), but i did with the "D", and it brings nice stuff. With a bit of very easy and simple scratch built parts, you can have something pretty good in my opinion. And the PE seat is a very good addition and really looks like sheet metal, as it is really sheet metal. However, i think that the pre-painted parts often need to be repainted to the correct color, to match the other parts. I had the option to use the Eduard photoetch or the MDC, but I went for the MDC, because it has far better details, plastic floor relief, 2 versions of instrument panel included, gunsight.... Exactly The N incorporates these changes over D-30 fuselage: - R-2800-57 engine serie C+ turbo CH5 in place 2800-59 serie B + turbo CH3 - new wing.. The fuel capacity was increased by extending of wing center section(36"). - Propeller had a large blade, hub was a C642S-B40 (C542S on "D") fitted with blade No 836. There were some changes on late D-40 regarding installation of the rocket launchers. This changes were incorporated on N-5 and later. A340 Pilot Posted March 4, 2015 Share Posted March 4, 2015 Eduard has gone in the usual trap and printed the photoetch with Interior Green. All operational T'bolts had Dull Dark Green cockpit interiors. The only T'bolts with Interior Green were produced by Curtiss. Poor quality control at the Curtiss factory prevented these planes to be used operationally. Eventually, they were used for Stateside training only. But it does not mention on how to fix the floor. I did a search for a after market cockpit, The only thing that comes up was the Photo Etch Eduard set. The problem I have with Photo etch is, It get's a green corrosion on it do to the heavy salt air where I live. Most of the time it's the edges of the seat belts So you folks think a MDC one will fit? Important is to install bulkheads and auxiliary floor (the later made of a plastic sheet) before inserting the cockpit.
