Out2gtcha
Great looking Stang! I wonder how many of these Salvadoran, Guatemalan, Chilean, Nicaraguan P-51s got sold after their time to US buyers for (comparatively) dirt cheap.
ZachP319
Great looking Stang! I wonder how many of these Salvadoran, Guatemalan, Chilean, Nicaraguan P-51s got sold after their time to US buyers for (comparatively) dirt cheap. A few for sure. Many of the Salvadoran planes were bought off the civil market initially in order to beef up the ranks of the FAS prior to the 1969 war and it seems likely a number of them found their way back to the civil market at the end of their service. My main reference for this was the old Aerofax Datafile on Latin American Mustangs and a number of pictures show ex Guatemalan Mustangs soon after purchase at Connie Edwards ranch in Texas still wearing their FAG camouflage. R Palimaka
Excellent job, and great choice of markings. Something very different. Glad you were persistent and finished this, it's not an easy kit. Richard
