BloorwestSiR
Great looking canopy plug Kent. Are you going to split it like the original one or leave it one piece? Carl kkarlsen
kkarlsen
Great looking canopy plug Kent. Are you going to split it like the original one or leave it one piece? Carl Hi Carl, I'm going to split the canopy in two halves, I think it's the only way to do it. Kent
kkarlsen
Hello Kent! Great job What are the difference you have noticed for the canopy? Could you show (fastly) them? Amities from France Fab Hi, the canopy of the V's differs from the later B models, firstly being 20 cm's narrower, but also the framework is different... kkarlsen
I've been trying to get my head around the nacelles for the early BMW engines. Starting with the front end of the cowlings reshaping the intakes... It has been necessary to rework some of the engine parts to fit the early BMW's, making molds and casting new resin ones. Working my way backwards using the kit Jumo nacelles reshaping it to fit the BMW's, closely using photos as a guide, the drawings seems to be off at some point. Yes, it's a lot of work... KiwiZac
I've not posted in this thread until today but I've been following, with much fascination, since the beginning. I really enjoy each update and the work you're putting in is fantastic to watch. kkarlsen
alaninaustria
Are you using the intake lips from the Revell He-162 kit?? Those lips are for the BMW engine. Outstanding job! Cheers Alan kkarlsen
kkarlsen
Are you using the intake lips from the Revell He-162 kit?? Those lips are for the BMW engine. Outstanding job! Cheers Alan Thanks Alain: I'm not, the early BMW intakes of the V6/V8 are different, so I had to scratch them together with the nacelle to get the correct shape. If one would do a Arado 234 C with four BMW engines, the intakes could be used. Btw: The CMK BMW engines have the He-162 intakes as well. kkarlsen
I have finally decided to do the V6 variant with the four separate BMW engines, it just looks cool ;-) Work continues with getting the wings ready to take the four BMW engines... Using the DIY putty to 'rearrange' some of the panel lines. New panel lines and details on the top wing. The nacelles are about ready... The framework on the canopy plug is done with vinyl tape Cheers: Kent Edited March 14, 2018 by kkarlsen fab, Hubert Boillot, Alain Gadbois and 6 others
