Lukgraph Boeing F3B-1 Command Aircraft

So here I have a little progress with this one

I managed to glue together fuselage and all major parts (all glued with epoxy from HPH which is superior to me) and rescribe the  lines

there is no big cleanin and sanding needed cause all big parts are well prepared, but as usual, I had to be very careful because of all small holes which appears even after really gentle sanding. So I decided to first give it some layers of Mr surfacer and then just smooth the surface. no fit issues noticed so far

to keep geometry of both wings is quite simple cause there is no dihedral on both wings

there is some really fine details on the engine, and because most of it will be hidden at the end, I will focus on cylinders, plug wires and exhaust

Was thinking about creating flight deck as display base for this one from wood, but I found by accident this nice resin flight deck, produced by Eureka XXL company (first time I heard abut them)

It is a foam board covered with surface made from resin and with wooden frame. It should depict WWII US flight deck, and even I am not expert for aircraft carriers, the details looks really fine and with some easy painting I think that I will achieve good results.

Metal cable is included as well.

And for the price of 15€ is good value for money, considering that you will usually pay the same money for 2D printed foam board

So here are some photos of it

started to paint major parts

as usual I first sprayed surfacer, then I sprayed Mr. white base
Between the steps I have used cotton Polishing Pad to achieve a surface as smooth as possible

and applied silver dope on fabric surfaces and tail  (mixture of Alclad White aluminium and Mr. Paint light grey in ratio 2:1)

and then I applied light grey on all metal parts (which is little bit darker then silver finish)

This looks real nice! Both the model and your build! Looks like one of these eternal classic cars from the 30ies

it looks that these planes were maintained to highly polished finish as you can see below on the photo, even it is not the particular aircraft I am building

they treated like a cars  :)
