Nieuport 17

Hi Sabre,

Indeed, the lacing was aluminium doped on many Nieport 17's. It's also available as an alternative decal.

However, the Windsock Datafile side profile of this particulalrly example

clearly showed the brown stitching on the fuselage so I used this.

At least it adds some color to the model.

Thanks for your concern!.

Cheers,

Peter

Well Guys,

The little Nieuport 17is finished! :)

Some oil staining is smeared on the belly of the fuselageand some very ight sand debris on the wheels and tail.

The pictures in the Windsock Datafale (and on the Spada decalsheet instructions) show a large number of relatively clean aircraft,

so i didn't dirty it up any more.

Remember that the average life span of WW 1 fighters was not that long, so most had no chance of wear. :P

The last thing to add was the operating wire for the Lewis gun.

So here it is:

Thanks for the very kind words, guys! :D

Hi Gregory,

That's an interesting link and worth a try for the next WW1 build. Thanks! :)

Hi Russ,

When a group build fits in my modelling (subject and time  ) I will join.

This one was indeed great fun. Let's hope the next one is a "stalled projects part 3".

I have several projects lying around which qualify. :notworking:

So we'll see what will be next!

Cheers,

Peter
