LSP_Kevin
Really nice work, Jack! I have this kit in the stash, too, and your build is making me want to fetch it out! Kev Shaka HI, marauderdriver and mpk
marauderdriver
Thanks Kevin It really is refreshing to build these kits from my youth and staying with the OOB makes it more fun in my opinion. jack Bill_S, mpk and Shaka HI
marauderdriver
Been workin' the engine over when I could this week. The clean up was not as bad as you remember, but you did have to take some care and a little time. Came out not to bad, air brushed the gray on the crankcase and brushed the jugs Metalizer Aluminum non-buff. A splash of Testors Oil & Grease wash on the jugs. The push rods are OOB so don't LAUGH!!.......OK LAUGH!!!! BradG, mpk, mgbooyv8 and 3 others

marauderdriver
I appreciate that Shaka HI, Sometimes its funny how some parts are represented in these old kits..... like the pushrods in this case. That's when building OOB can be fun because you can show how these kits were designed back in the Stone Age!. Love the scribing and riveting your doing on your Hellcat. Good reference for hen I build mine. jack mpk, Shaka HI and MikeC
mgbooyv8
I agree, nothing to laugh. I must say it is a nice little engine and the distinctive pushrods were a characteristic of this design. Cheers, Peter marauderdriver and mpk
marauderdriver
Well Thank You Peter, I truly appreciate the comments. I do love building these Classics. Here is a small update on the last weeks work Lots of TLC sanding and scraping on the wing parts ALL of THEM guns. ammo, barrels, landing gear retract parts. Then looked for gear bay and gun bay colors, mostly models some had Gray or Green or Met Blue in the gear bays and Green in the gun bay. I do like the plate Revell added for the gear bay roof So here is where we are at on the last night of 2016. HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!! mpk

Shaka HI
This kit really qualifies for this build? Looking good! marauderdriver and mpk
Guest
Jack, have a question, the guns, are they too far back ? The ammo is feeding into the spring assembly, not the receiver. Not knocking your build buddy, just looks odd.....Harv
