Erwin
Nice to see a WW-1 plane in the GB. Lots of luck to you with all that rigging. Looking forward to see this one.

TimW
Nice to see a WW-1 plane in the GB. Lots of luck to you with all that rigging. Looking forward to see this one. Yeah, the pressure's on! Though I've drilled lots of nice holes in the wings with a pin-vise drill, those drill bits break with frequency. I have some nice thin thread to use for this one as it will be a challenge. Cheers, Tim W
TimW
First progress. This is pretty much OOB, but with some modifications. The seat is from the Tom's Modelworks set for RFC aircraft. The seat belt is scratch-built from some foil off a champagne bottle. White instrument faces may be wrong...but the decal dials are black so black on black didn't seem to make sense I have drilled out a number of rigging holes v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y with a pin vise drill. Opinions welcome. Tim W.
TimW
Another. The oil tank was covered with kleenex and super-glue. Tim W.

spacewolf
White instrument faces may be wrong...but the decal dials are black so black on black didn't seem to make sense Many instrument faces of that era were white faced with brass fittings. (see link) http://www.jasta11.co.uk/page30.htm Also, pilots of the day were often avid mechanics and tinkerers, interested in doing anything to modify/ improve their 'kites' so if one pilot felt the white faced instruments were easier to see, he'd make sure they were installed, often doing the work himself or working with his 'fitter'. Your cockpit looks great, can't wait to see what else you do ! Cheers Vaughn

ruzlkampf
Alright Tim! WW1 planes are totally cool, I'm majorly hooked on them now! I'm doing some fairly simple ones right now, but when Wingnuts comes out with their Fe2-B....I'm going for it. Sheesh, the Fokkers I'm working on are small....can't even imagine how itty-bitty this one is? Loved your previous builds, can't wait to see how this one progresses. Hmmmm, I just might have to do an Allied AC soon? (be a lot smaller than the Zeppelin I made plans up for! ) heh heh. Later, Russ

The DH is small, but manageable (I say this now before starting the rigging...) Good luck! Tim W.

TimW
Sorry for the long hiatus here...work, life, etc. Presently I'm going through the Roden weak struts-heavy-upper-wing-ballet and it isn't pretty! Pictures soon, either that or I'll lose my mind... Tim W.
