Shawn M
still working on panel lines and inspection covers, this plastic is a bear to rescribe on as it wants to pull my scriber everywhere but along the dymo tape
Shawn M
slowly re scribing, filling and working on the fuse. The nose gear doors fit like garbage and took a lot of work to get a somewhat acceptable fit. I've started building up the rudder counterbalance as its moulded into the vertical stab and not part of the rudder...sigh I see the elevators have the same issue. Shawn M
I'll get some pics posted tomorrow but had a great afternoon at the bench. The nose gear doors are all on and sanded out. Need to make the blast panel out of furnace tape still. Got the weapons bulges on and drilled for the master barrels. Got the vac canopy cut out and fitted, went scarily well and fast. Reworked the rudder (top) and got both parts ready to pin. Started on the elevators and boy what a mess there, have one 75% done. Shawn M
Yeah Tommy, this is gonna take a LOT of putty, shims and other fillers lol Thanks Harv, nice to have you along for the ride. Big Texan
Alain Gadbois
Good job with all those seams and that Squadron canopy looks beautiful! Alain Shawn M
1to1scale
I agree, the squadron canopy is clearer than I thought. I have one stashed away for my MIG-15, but I may pick up another for the my MIG-17 also. Shawn M
Shawn M
the squadron canopy is well worth the money considering the shape and clarity!
Shawn M
shot some primer to check seams, need to fix a few then push through the rescribe work I have. Tail feathers all done, need to pin then attach the stabs. The wings are gonna be a challenge, need to get the correct anehedral set then deal with the massive gaps. Shawn M
working from home today has allowed me to pin the elevators and rudders. Got some filler on the seams and am starting to sand them out (again).
Shawn M
this thing is bin bound if it doesn't start cooperating! Despite fillers, ca, etc I could NOT get rid of a seam line. Finally scribed it deeper and will try to fill from there. Out2gtcha and Gazzas
