BradG
I needed a break from my Macchi 202 so I knocked out a Hasegawa 109 for the 'Great Patriotic War Group Build' over on Britmodeller. Not bad for a couple of weeks work. About half a dozen of these aircraft were flown by the Russian Liberation Army out of Nemecky Brod airfield from March 1945, it's unknown how much combat they actually saw, likely very little. What was left of 'white 15' was discovered in a bombed out hangar. Around 100,000 men served in the ROA, mostly anti Communist refugees from Eastern Europe and captured Soviet soldiers. Most captured men of the ROA were sent back to Russia where they were imprisoned and left to die in the gulags. It's leaders were hanged in Moscow in August 1946. D.B.
