Gazzas
Everyobody else has some cool stuff here, so I thought I'd post my latest completed build. My first build where I combined an oil wash, streaking, color modulation, and pastels. Thanks for looking! Gazzas
Guys, Thank you! The kit is the oft-maligned Dragon Nashorn 6001 circa 1992. It received a lot of bad reviews and I've read in more than one place that the dissatisfied owners binned it. Having gotten it as a gift this year from a friend in New Zealand and having wanted a Nashorn badly when I was a kid (that was long before 1992), I didn't find building it very insurmountable. mustang1989
Good lookin' track dude! I'm not an armor builder but I've got a lot of admiration for those that do go into those waters. Edited May 2, 2017 by mustang1989 Gazzas
Gazzas
Good lookin' track dude! I'm not an armor builder but I've got a lot of admiration for those that do go into those waters. Thank you! The Friul tracks are the easiest part of the build. Each link is molded from white metal (mostly lead, I suspect). Also provided is a spool of steel wire. Place two links together, insert steel wire, clip wire with sturdy cutters (don't use your nice Xuron nippers) and move on. Some links need some minor clean up, and sometimes you need a small drill bit to open the pin-channel, but all in all simple. Paint and weather then use abrasive to make pieces shiny where you want them shiny. True, they cost as much as another regular 1/35 AFV, but they sag naturally, and act like real tracks. I'm generally stingy when it comes to AM. But Friuls are my only 'must have' item.
