  1. If I ever get my bench and workroom set up and complete, this is on my shortlist for building. I picked up a couple. You example is will be my first based on aircraft at Malden AFB, Missouri in 1950. My dad was a civilian contract Anderson Air Activities Instructor Pilot for a bit over the winter. Once spring arrived, he went back to crop dusting. Seems a great many of the IPs there were cropdusters according to folks who trained there.
  2. I can see them in Firefox.
  3. I found and bought on eBay. Developer/seller has some YouTube videos of building. The kit is made to be flyable R/C. Unique breakdown and assembly. I have no plans for flying it, nor even overly detailing it. Like you, I love all things Stearman. https://www.ebay.com/itm/304767763322?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Wn0l0rPnQ_e&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=YBqYtXHVRiS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  4. I have a 1/8 scale 3D printed Stearman waiting in cue. It will be a ceiling hangar in my shop when done. But I have to get my shop built in my barn first, as well as my model room in mancave in house. We just moved in a couple months ago.
  5. I chimed in on FB for a Jenny and a NAF N3N. I have Mike West’s F11C conversion for the Hasegawa BF2C but agree, a good complete kit would be nice to have.
  6. This is my first experience with a Fisher model. Extremely clean, crisp and smooth surfaces. Look forward to getting moved and a new shop set up so I can work on it.
  7. I just received an email response from AJP Maquette. “Dear Sir, Our " Ford Trimotor " model is always available. We are temporarily in out of stock, and currently in annual closure until September 7. However, we can save your order now if you wish. Remaining at your disposal. Cordially. J. Primault.” I will be ordering one!
  8. Given its history as both a trainer and even more so the Barnstorming era, at least in US, it seems extremely under-represented. Perhaps the extensive rigging makes people shy away. It would be daunting, but I love biplanes.
  9. Anyone know of any large scale Curtiss Jenny? Seems to be a dearth of kits in most scales that aren’t decades old.
  10. I that is very true. The simplest way is to simply cut the accessory cowling back, which is typically what owners did when they hung the R985, if they chose to use it at all. Most crop dusters chose to leave it open, but many kept and modified it to fit. I have plans for building my dad’s primary Stearman duster, which retained the Continental engine. Following that, I plan to build a R-985 version…which will be a challenge. That will be several months down the road, however. I’m packing my shop up soon getting ready to move to a house we are building…with dedicated model room upstairs in addition to a large barn and shop out back!
