Revell P-51D Glamorous Glen II

Hot off the workbench, nearly complete:

GGII-2.JPG

Revell P-51D (early), Montex masks for the Hasegawa P-51D (which don't really fit), HGW seatbelts

Three weeks of fun comparable to building Airfix kits as a kid

She's not perfect, needs some tidying up and has enough mistakes and errors to give a Mustang expert conniptions - and I don't care!

All that matters is that YOU like it.  Well done!!

It's the most up-to-date kit I have ever built. Well, without 'modifying' one first, I have a WNW Pup that I went overboard on rigging the cockpit framework meaning I had trouble closing up and fitting the lower wing. That consigned the kit to the shelf of doom for years!

Maybe I'm biased by my experience of older kits, I think this one builds pretty well if you take the time to understand what's supposed to be going on

I haven't used masks before, I need to have a think about the paint I use with them as I managed to peel lumps of letters off the 'Glamorous Glen II' bit and entire squares from the nose checkerboard

As I said, it isn't perfect, it was great fun

I'll tittivate it a bit and then move it off the workbench
