TRUMPETER GRUMMAN A6A INTRUDER: UPDATE: 7/22/17: Introduction

I've lived on Long Island since 1956, the home of both Grumman and Republic until they disappeared into history. Needless to say I am a huge fan of both their aircraft and  less then a 15 minute drive from my home is the Grumman Memorial Park, with both a F-14 Tomcat and A-6E Tram on display. Talk about inspiration.

I never made it to the contest with my Mossie last time around and this time, my goal is complete the A6 on time and enter her into two contests: The 2018 Noreastcon and the 2018 Mosquitocan. I'm going all out for at least me and the plan is to  incorporate all my AM Sets; both Resin and PE, a bit of scratch work if needed, Black Basing for adding a bit of color modulation to the finish and of course, the brilliant AOA Decals. I still have some AM to purchase including the canopy mask set, resin loadouts as soon as I finalize them and if anyone has some suggestions as if I missed some, please let me know

I have no choice but to put my current builds on the sidelines and devote 100% of my bench time to the A6, hoping to cross the finish line by mid March. At this point it makes no sense to loose a month or more time finishing the F4, as she isn't contest bound. My brother is already applying the pressure and it's either get going or not enter. I really want to try my hand once more at the contest level and the reality is: get going or, stop procrastinating. and give up the ghost. I now up and running.

To be modeled: A-6A Intruder VA-165 Boomers NG-500(155644) - USS Constellation 1971-72

So the epic begins:

Thanks for checking in

Peter

Bro

Of course I'll be following along here, as well as behind the scenes, emails, texts, our sunday breakfasts, and in person at least once per month.  This has to be an absolutely perfect build right through to completion for the contests.  So I'm signing on as your pre-contest judge.  :fight:  :excl:

This will be a great display to watch!

I'm a displaced Long Islander, born and raised in Blue Point. A good friend worked at Grumman.

 Dan

Dan,

That's almost due south from me. I'm from Selden.

Busted out the notepad and sharpened the pencils, going to be taking copious notes!

Really looking forward to this build.

Mike

Mike,

I'm not so sure Pete knows what copious means. I'll ask him at the diner tomorrow if he knows.
