Posting the announcements for Richard to help out.

New and soon to be released from Aviattic are the following sets, photos are ones that he's posted on facebook this week. I will be reviewing the new sets when they  eventually land at my doorstep:

Resin Fokker DR.1 cowl for Roden kit. Already available on the web store - http://www.aviattic.co.uk

Fokker streaky camo decals - two styles (fuselage and wings), each available on clear decal paper or printed on the unbleached linen fabric decal.  They're also available for order on the web store and will be available to purchase in combo packs shortly.

Fokker E.V / D.VIII cookie cutter decals for Avis / MikroMir kit.  Sheet includes covers fuselage, tail surface, and wheel lozenge, interior fuselage lozenge and wood paneling. Will be available for preorder next week on the site.

Albatros D.V / D.Va cookie-cutter lozenge decals for wings and tail surfaces. Will be available for preorder next week on the site.

That Dr.I cowl certainly looks appealing.

The Roden kit is fine. I'd rather see a Sopwith baby from WNW. The streakies look good, but I'm wondering how to apply. Cut a paper template?

Fokker DRI templates will follow in a while on the website.

Not everyone wants to sit around waiting for WNW to fulfil every kit on our dream list and close the market down to other companies...these are for you. More to come.

I use cheap masking tape (apply to forearm to lessen the tack) - stick on the part, trace outline with pencil, put tape straight onto decal sheet, cut it out, remove tape. Lather/Rinse/Repeat for other panels / areas.  The technique works great with the strong decal film that Aviattic uses, I did this technique on my Junkers J1 fuselage and the sections of the AEG that I've managed to complete.

Mike, you're right.

I traded my Encore kit for a KH Kingfisher, entirely in the hope that WNW would bring out a Fokker Triplane soon.

I'm still waiting.

DR1, early-mid Fokker-built D.VII, and at least some of the earlier fokker D series (D.II, D.III, D.V I believe).  The D.II is coming from Special Hobby later this year in 1/32, and the D.III is available as a skeleton kit from Bo Monroe / Flugzeugwerke through Shapeways

That cowl looks amazing.  I'm almost disappointed in seeing the streaky decals tho - that takes some skill to model and look good - hence why they are doing it, but that is definitely a skill to appreciate when its painted right.  I'm sure we will see a bunch of new streaky camo planes shortly.

I wasn't going to play with Roden DR.1s anymore, but having recently seen the V.7 triplanes, I'm very seriously considering modifying the Roden kit to make those, and they were all streaky.

Certain health issues with one of my colleagues have delayed its development - but should be available by years end..it'll be worth the wait..

regards

Richard
