Out2gtcha
Cool vid...............I always wanted a 415 "superscooper". That vid was really cool, you can really see its no fighter though from the way he was occasionally yanking the controls around with more minimal seeming response from the plane. Very interesting to see a water pickup and drop from inside.....

alaninaustria
Ron, that was a bird sold to the Turks... not the Greeks!! One of my best friends is currently training Turkish crews how to operate the CL 215 bird... Cheers Alan
BradG
In that episode of Ice Pilots, they never did quite explain how the hell they managed to do that or what happened after it. My guess is someone got a serious kick in the arse.
Derek B
Awesome - I was equally mightily impressed watching Kamov Ka 32s whilst I was at Cyprus doing the same thing a few years ago. Derek Edited July 27, 2012 by Derek B

ssculptor
amazing video...must see! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YVoeEgGwgc&feature=player_embedded M Problem is, the music is not only totally unnecessary but it detracts from the film! What is it about these moronic movie producers that makes them think that no one wants to listen to the aircraft in flight? This would have been great with the just the sound of the aircraft and especially the sounds when it was picking up the water! Stephen
alaninaustria
Good point stephen... and at the current rate of change (piston engines being replaced by turbines) we won't be hearing big radials in action all too often in the future.... I have ran into some good videos over the last years completely drowned out in some sort of crap music... a bleeding shame really... Derek B
Brilliant! Would love to have a go at that!! Iain This would be one of the easier aircraft to scratch build Lain, as does not have many compound curvatures and can mostly be fabricated from flat plastic card.
