BradG
It's the old 1/32 Revell F-4E. What do you reckon, salvageable? The building was done before it was given to me many years ago, I'd forgotten I had this stashed away in the bottom of the closet. It's been rather poorly glued together and the cockpit is pretty much stuffed and the decals look gone. The wing might take some effort to debond as well, but as far as I can tell it's pretty much complete. I spose I could paint out the canopies or something. Dave Williams
Is the belly part with the Sparrow wells cut in half? I don't remember it being in two parts. Or is this the old tool kit? My call would be forget about building it and just use it as a test mule for new paints and techniques. dodgem37
Give it a go and see what develops. 'The wing might take some effort to debond ' Put it in a freezer bag, put it into the freezer for an hour, the halves will pop apart with minimal pressure. Works every time. Sincerely, Mark Dragon and BradG
Scotsman
It was split on two on the Original 1970's Revell F-4 , strictly a nostalgia build these days I built a bunch of them around 74-75 , ok decals, especially the Revell Germany releases, but soft detail, dubious shapes , and gimmicks galore such as a removable engine.. Ah happy days ! ColinR BradG
Dandiego
If your just looking for some fun give it a shot. Accuracy wise its not very good. I just bought the Revell F-4G for $32 at Hobby Lobby. Its not a perfect kit but way better than the one you have. Rick Griewski
I have rediscovered three Jurassic kits in similar condition over the last few years. I gave two a second shot but dumped all except for wings and other parts to use as paint test hacks. For me the golden glow of the more modern kits is just too hard to argue with or resist. He only exception is the Hasagawa F-104 is on the shelf with the new Etaleri kit. Rick BradG, Jack and Bill_S
phasephantomphixer
Had the Navy version in same "on the fence" situation back early 90's. Did a fast build with pilots to busy up the holes, cleaned up the seams, etc. gear up, ceiling hanger. Spray bombed it and still got it around. Due to size and hung high, it is decent enough. imatt88
BUILD IT!!!!! LOL These are the kind of kits I love to do. At least a quarter of my stash are rebuilds.. .. BradG and Rick Griewski
Luca
It can be surely converted into a beautiful build, but you have to invest A LOT of time and aftermarkets (wrong intakes, wrong undercarriage, wrong exhausts, wrong muzzle. My suggest: DO IT. BradG and Rick Griewski
thierry laurent
No aftermarket may save this kit. As others proposed it have fun with a quick build out of the box! BradG and LSP_K2
Martinnfb
Wouldn't it be waste of time. If you have to ask, you are in doubt. Doubt usually leads to disappointment. If it smells like fish it is most likely a fish.
imatt88
When I redo old kits, I got a lot of inspiration from the late, great Larry Hawkins. He could get silk out of a sows ear Just sayin.
