The wheels are't really on crooked - optical illusion!

And yup I know I've got an aiM-120 on the wrong side of the pylon - its being attended to!

Good eye's there ..... The last pic was taken 2 weekends ago at the Scottish Nationals in Perth , the Phantom is one of a series our club's resident Rhino Fan has turned out over a period - unfortunatly all in 72nd :D

I dread the time he move's up to a serious scale!

acually he loves F-4's to such an extent that he'll never work larger than 72nd , since he's working on modelling all 5192 F-4's ....or that's how it seems to us!

I couldn't make the nationals this year :D as the prospect of fighting my way across the Forth Bridge with all the disruptions and 2 kids in the car were just not worth it, but there is always next year :D .

Cheers

Graham.

How long have you got....

Lots of problems with this paint job, Xrtracolour enamles, decals, and then a sludge wash, so far so good, then polyscale flatt, - too strong, and my carefully prepared panel lines ended up white , gounge out the white sludge, re-varnish - simliar effect - repeat the process 3 times.....AARGH :)

In between there was some pastels used round the various hinge points for the wing control surfaces- and that helped break up the finish

Anyway finally got the panel lines sorted , but with smudges everywhere - so out with the airbrush again, and the smudges were touched up , Final flat coat - voila!

The patchy effect in reality isn't that visible to the naked eye - its an artifact of the differential reflection from the mutiple coats , I'm pretty certain that pre shading a finish of Gunship Grey is a non starter, better to work with post shading/pastels/touch ups as it happens in reality

I think in my heart of hearts that the finish is a touch overweathered for a 4th FW Beagle, all the pics I've seen of them seem to show them as pretty well imaculate , that being said I have pics of the 48tth FW birds up here in the highhlands jinking through the valleys showing them pretty well stained , and worn

-as usual - you pays your money ........and makes your choice

Very, very nice. I hope my own partially completed Revell F-15C Eagle comes out half as well as yours has! I am trying to find some decent decals for it (I do not like the kit ones at all).

Cheers

Two Bob's Eglin gorilla's is a rather attractive scheme :-

:)

I spent 5 months last year jobless - the good news was lots of modelling was done ........

Oh BTW its the Tamiya model, straight from the box, with the addition of Aim-120's from the Academy F-18,, along with the appropriate launch rails

Oh and yup some of Albert's F-4 are in background - the 41 SQ one is rather nice!
