geedubelyer
Oh yeah! Looking good Don. That's some cracking progress. Amazing how quickly things come together once the cockpit is finished. Cheers. P.s, don't forget to glue Edgar A's head on before you button up the canopy....... MikeC

geedubelyer
Hi Don, I've just enjoyed re-reading this thread and studying the engine photos as I'm fast approaching that stage on my build. Lovely, sharp images so thanks for that. Hope all is going well and look forward to more from you in due course. Cheers.

DonH
Well, I'm back in black... Spent the afternoon spraying black primer onto the Mk XVI. Gonna leave it a week and then do the top coat (silver). I'm quite please with the result, there are some rough patches that need buffing, but mostly it's OK. I'm not aiming for a high gloss finish because the scheme I have in mind is not NMF (and I can't get a high gloss shine to save my life). No pics, who wants to see a black Mk XVI anyway? Looks like I will finish it before end of May, but the Mk IX is going to be late. Cheers Don

DonH
Hi, I am experimenting with Mr Color SM01. Never used it before. I will do some trials before I commit.
DonH
Well, I am really happy with the quality of SM01. It gives a nice finish and is tough as nails. It is not affected by Future, as far as I am concerned. Some quick shots grabbed with my iPhone. I still have a lot to learn about surface prep, but I am actually happy with the look. Next up, some yellow paint and then decals. Cheers Don mozart

mozart
What a beautiful beast, you can almost hear the growl of the Merlin, or I guess Griffon! Great shots Don, love it. Max

Max Thanks Max, It's a Merlin. I think the black paint line over the rocker covers makes them look bigger and more Griffonesque in the shots.
