Dukie99 Posted March 29, 2017 Share Posted March 29, 2017 This is my finished TBF1-C Avenger. It depicts Georges H. Bush's aircraft when he was shot over Chichi Jima. Stars and bars and aircraft marking are painted. The only decals I used were the kit stencils. AM includes Avionix resin cockpit, resin wheels, G-Factor metal gears and some eduard photoetches. All paint are Mr. Paint and I used Grey flory washes for weathering. Canopy was masked (inside and outside) with Montex mask. Overall an excellent kit but it is an ambitious project, not always easy to stay motivated, this one spent 6 months on the SOD before I found the motivation to finish it. I am glad I did. This is the second Trumpeter airplane I finished (first one was a 109E in Swiss markings) and.I am currently putting the finishing touches to a Trumpeter AV-8B and I am midway through the A-10. The Avenger is by far the better kit. The AV-8B spent 18 months on the SOD before I found the motivation to finish it and I did not make the kink correction. The A-10 is the worst Trumpeter kit I worked on, but I will finished it and I vowed not to start the Italeri F-35 before the A-10 is done...
