Well i figured i better jump in here, I assume this is the right place to post, it's not an airplane but it is large!

I thought i would post some pic's of my 3D Printed V-1. About 90% is printed and the other 10% is by hand, She measure's a tic over 21".  I generally don't Doc my build since most are for private request(I need there permission),  But i guess i could start doing it for my personal builds.

Any questions feel free to ask!

A rather unique subject for sure.  One only has to look at how well you weathered the engine in take to realize that there is more there then meets the eye with details everywhere. Very nicely done.

Hey Craig,

As far as a printer i have a Lulzbot Taz 6 and  Mini, for most intermediate size items i print at 0.10mm, larger stuff i will go to .020mm, the primer i use is Dupli-Color, the red filler primer, it drys in about 15 min's, the gray seems to take forever.

Then i have an ABS slurry that i make up to thinly coat the part and fill the layer lines, then sand and prime, i use HIPS filament, basically the same stuff model are made of.

Good stuff mate. I thought with the finish you may have had one of those resin UV (SLA?) printers. I've got an UP Box myself, good machine but the resolution is fixed at 0.2mm.

It seems you are well versed in the finishing process for these parts. Excellent results!

  • 2 weeks later...

So...after a week or so reading and watching the forums, I see that my documentation skills are far from great, so i decided to start the Pulse Jet from scratch for any that are interested. It's the smallest part of the build so i will start there and then pick up with the rest........

So this picture is the components off the printer........

Next i had to make the fuel jets (3) this was do in brass........

Next is all the front intake components, the screen was pure luck, i was wondering how i was going to do this, then i looked at my raft from the printer and said this looks pretty damn close.....

Looks like i will be getting a new camera or at least a stand for the one i have. enjoy for now.

Very nice. Glad the screen worked out. I find it funny what we stumble upon. I was thinking about what I'd do for for small polished intake a few weeks ago and the pen in my hand with  the tip of its stainless steel clip had one right there!
