OK, I've been digging around for decals that might be suitable for the Revell P-51 without the dorsal fin.

There is:

Revell kit:  413410 C-E2 'Lou IV/Athelene' and 413714 B6-B 'Desert Rat'

Cutting Edge Decalshttp://fineartofdecals.com/goodies/132-p-51d-decal-sets/ : Five schemes there

Barracudacalshttp://barracudacals.com/products.php?cat=8 : Just one, out of print

EagleCals: http://www.eagle-editions.com/eaglecals-102-p-51-mustangs-to-war-with-the-yoxford-boys.html  http://www.eagle-editions.com/eaglecals-103-p-51-mustangs-to-war-with-the-yoxford-boys.html : Two there See below

That's a start. What else is there?

Please - only decals for P-51D planes or Mustang IVs with NO DORSAL FIN

Mike Grant also released the same Cripes a mighty scheme some years ago. I should check but it is quite probable Superscale also released some schemes.

Superscale: Flying Girl

There are probably more, I can't tell if the Squadron schemes include the dorsal fin

There must be some 'Dorsal fin' schemes for 'planes that were fitted with the fin in the field that could be used

Odd, I have yet to find one single scheme for this kit that interests me.

Fortunately, I did!

I'm going to use the Montex mask for the Hasegawa and have a bash at Chuck Yeager's 'Glamorous Glen'

No dorsal fin, no bare metal, invasion stripes and an interesting pilot - perfect!

I can probably use some of the decals from the 'Desert Rat' scheme in the kit if I want as well

Mike doesn't do those anymore. He doesn't do anything 1/32

or custom work. Eagle Cals Preddy decals are nice but you

pay for the decals and a 24 page book about the aircraft he

flew.
