Max N
While I'm at it, here are a couple of other placards made the same way Prop spinner Engine bearer with werknummer etc
Max N
I added the stud and nut to the engine mounting frame. This is the kit part I cut some guitar string for the studs, and some styrene hex for the nuts. Drilled a hole through the nuts (ouch) Painted the nuts and glued them on Close up
Max N
On the front of the engine, I added the wiring harness and spark plug wiring I replaced the kit intake and exhaust pipes. Here is the first stage, inlet pipes from brass rod bent to shape. Apologies for the poor photo but it gives the idea Later I painted the pipes black and they are practically un-noticeable now, I should have used a dark grey instead :-)

dodgem37
Dang man, the engine looks so real it's actually running, blurring the picture! Who makes the 'kit' from which you made your dry transfers? Good show. Â Thank you. Sincerely, Mark

The markings are Buhlingen's black <<+- if that makes sense

Good show.  Thank you. Sincerely, Mark  Mark, its called Grafix Rubonz and I picked it up at a Hobbycraft store in Reading. The film is quite thick and not really useful for stencils or anything but works OK onto aluminium for placards.

Max N
This shot shows the air inlet for the supercharger. I removed the bulge on the kit part, and replaced it with an oval strip of sheet brass which was painted black. Then I inserted a brass mesh into the middle. Also in this shot you can see the first steps at trying to make the exhausts. The kit exhausts are over on the right. They are combined with the inlet pipes and are very unconvincing. I ended up using a combination of brass rod and brass tube. Here you can see two pipes have been made and I am test fitting them. Also two of the flared end pieces ready for the next two pipes. Also in this shot the fuel lines have been added - they should have been painted yellow but I chickened out!
