Bruce
we always see the photos and drawings of Robin Olds' F-4 but I don't remember seeing shots of Chappie James' F-4. While he was Robin's vice commander and flew missions during that same time did he have an assigned F-4 with his name on the canopy rail? Any drawings or photos out there that anyone knows of? big matt
Interesting question Bruce. I would doubt that he had a specific aircraft assigned to him. Olds flew quite a few serial numbers. From what I have read Olds felt it was important to assign aircraft but was not practical. I understand that "Scat XXVII" was painted on after his final mission for a photo session. At the time, 1966-1967, nose art was especially rare. For what it's worth...
