A6M5 Zero-sen

Nice one mate. It's still a neat little kit after all these years (over 40 I reckon!), and quite accurate in many areas (though not so much in others). You'll have this one across the finish line in no time!

A bit behind schedule, but I still hope I'll make it!

Underside painted!

Then I've masked the underside, added the canopy parts, and prepared with some vaseline!

I just wonder how long time the color needs to dry enough to be overpainted?

I really can't wait until tomorrow! :)

Cheers:

It's 24:00 local time, and I like to call it done if I may! :)

There's a few touch ups needed, and I just put most of the remaining details on so I don't dare putting it on its gear just yet! :)

I can take better pics tomorrow!

Cheers,

Thanks Kev, and Dave! :)

Yes, I've found the vaseline very useful for this kind of chipping, although it's the first time I done it to any larger extent!

I also sanded the rivets slightly to enhance the look a bit!

This is actually my first completed plane in 32nd scale, and also my first finished GB here! :)

Maybe I needed the time pressure! :)

Cheers,

Håkan

Then I hate to burst any bubbles for you... But this GB runs until August 31st. :) You've got a whole month to deal with the fiddly bits!

Doh! :) Well, what a mistake! :)

I was so sure it ended now, don't know why though?! :o

And I've driven my family crazy becourse of this! :)

Then I'll fix the fiddly bits and take some decent shoots when finished!

If I have had another Japanese kit, I could have built that too! :)

Cheers,

Håkan

Not to worry, Håkan! Although I was wondering where the sudden burst of frenzied progress had come from.. :P I know the pressure of a deadline gets my juices flowing, too. Maybe if I announced the end of all GBs when there is still a month to go would mean more completed entries! ;)

A very nice build.Good paintwork.

Just one small word of critique if I may.

IMO the meatball on the wings should be placed more towards the tips.

I've never seen them half-way the wings.

WHOOOHOOO !!!! Azgaron pulls it off in the (uhhhh self-imposed ;) ) crunch!!! Hurray! Looks COOooool, man. I'm liking that weathering style. Whoa yeah, nothing like a little 'modeling madness'. heh heh! Looks great buddy, what color did you use for the upper green? I like it.

Congratulations on getting the Zero built before the deadline, bet it feels good....reeeaaal good, huh! I've never built this kit (or ANY Zero actually) before, and it sure does look the part to me. Excellent build dude, thanks for sharing all the pics! What's next?! ;) Bwhahahah! Later my Friend, Russ
