Ya blackbetty is right, the nose looks more white than tan (but not as pure white as underside white I don't think, but that is guess.) It definitely isn't as dark as the normal earlier radome tan color nose. Modex 1 like mentioned also had the solid nose color. modex 1 had dark grey glareshield from windscreen to nose break line, then black extension onto solid whitish nose. Modex 10 looks the same minus the black extension. I'll check later today.

Eli,

They look great I am glad you were able to do VA-85, I was hoping for a Kitty Hawk bird.

Put me down for a set too!

Have now changed my planned build to the VA-52 Knight Riders PAT/ARM A-6B option on the sheet!

Lovely and Super!

http://www.navysite....cv63-72/111.htm

May we have extra lances for the c/l drop tank please? Slightly smaller than the fuselage one

And the 511NH for the wing?

Tony

Hi Tony - yes - extra lances are on the decal sheet to cover fuel tanks and wing codes for all the schemes that have them. Working on the top view profiles today and hope to be able to post those this weekend.

I am very partial to the VA52 A-6B option as well - I have some AGM-78s on the way from another forum member. Would a load of two 78s, two shrike and a fuel tank in the fuselage station be accurate?

That's the correct load-out.

The Trumpeter AGM-45 Shrikes need modifying. Until something better comes along the easiest way to make them look better is to move the front steering wings back. CAM do some resin ones which are available at Sprue Brothers but I haven't seen them.

The Trumpeter AGM-78 STARMs (from the F-105 kits) are better, but do require a few changes, as there are curves on the fin/strakes where these are angular. Those are the only source for the correct pylon launch rails for STARM.

PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send you some Navy drawings for the missiles tomorrow, with dimensions included. Will copy these to Harold if he doesn't have them as they may inspire some new items (?)

Hi!

Tony will not do it but I'll do it: buy his "Iron Hand" book! It has everything you will need to build a SAM killer plus far more, believe me!

I highly recommend it!
