"Old Revell" Ju 87B Stuka: FINISHED

Allok

Recommended Posts

Keith "the Reanimator" Allott is back with a Stuka that he rescued from Ebay.

I bought this one to replace my 1/24-scale Airfix kit which sat half-made for seven years. By the time I completed it I wasn't happy with it at all and it was way to big for me to start a collection of them.

Somebody already started this one, so I have had to dismantle it so I can do the cockpit the way I want.

I'm only going to add a few small extras this time.

Oh no! Not again...

Unfortunately, the old Snake decals are long gone but I bought some very nice Eagle Strike decals which have a Rudel scheme I like.

The interior looks pretty good, so I might just give it a re-paint and stick it back in after adding some little extras.

The seats and machine gun are no good. I'll make some new seats and grab a gun out of the spares box.

Want to have a go at cutting out the instruments and putting them individually. Saw somebody else do this and thought it looked great.

Do correct me if I'm wrong, the MG you want to use is an infantry MG with wasn't used in planes.

Oops! sorry about that, I'm a dork... problem fixed (I hope)

The reference for the MG15 came from the most unlikely source. You guys'll love this. http://www.tk409.com/images/mg15_measurements.jpg

... And a nice new back seat. Remember, this is a PE free zone- 1 back seat = about 2 hours. NOW I'm cross eyed!

After three goes at the pilots seat, I came up with someting I was Ok with. Looks eerily like the kit one I took out...?

Had a guess with the harnesses. Buckles are made from some .012mm styrene I found.

Time for some paint.

Hooray!
