A little more progress.

The canopy received a new coat of flat black and I have fashioned a shroud from some card stock.

And a look back. Since most of my early photos were lost in the photobucket meltdown I am posting a few photos from the beginning of the build.

Yes there was at one time 2 Superstars. After about a month I decided to start over. It was a good decision as I was able to make corrections and improvements on #2.

Thanks Dan

Hey, I was looking up "Jato canisters" on the Internet and came across a video that I had not seen before.

It is titled "Test flying the XF-90". Great stuff, some of it in color. I would provide a link if I knew how.

Brings the jet to life. I will try to link the video in the next day or so.

  • 4 weeks later...

Hey, its been about 3 weeks since my last update. Things have been moving slowly.

Mostly I have been working on getting the landing gear and wells finished.

Without any real detail photos in these areas it is hard to get the details correct. On the other hand no one can really call me out either.

So here is my best guess on how these areas might look.

Exhaust area, best guess.

Jato cannisters. F-90 was so underpowered that they were used regularly to get the plane up on hot days at Edwards. I stole these from my F-84 kit.
