Ray,

Needle nose pliers in the head of the split pin then behind the tail and squeeze gently, that should not impart much strain on the plastic, I thought it might have been a steel pin, sorry, I would be worried too.

Does this look better? I used two needle nose, working as little as possible against the plastic pin.

Ray,

I am so glad to see you buildin'!  You do really excellent work and have become a model making machine lately .

Model on brother Ray! The stick is going to look excellent with the fighter next to it some day, but it's pretty damn impressive on it's own.

Finally getting around to finishing this up!

Filled the base with epoxy putty:

Then with a few layers of Mr. Surfacer, tried to finish the surface in a cast aluminum texture. Might be a little rough, but turned out ok.

Painted it in a interior grey-green color:

Thanks, Torben! Feels good to actually get some modeling done again.

Next up is the plumbing to connect the grip to. It consists of some 1/4" copper tubing and fittings I got from the hardware store, and a length of plastic tubing painted semi-gloss black. The soldering was actually UV activated glue coated with silver Rub'n'Buff.

Now for the base. I rescued a small cutting board for cheese and chocolate? The logo is for Moonstruck Chocolates.

There was some cut marks on the board, so I simply turned it over. With some light sanding and stain and a few coats of satin clear, I have a nice base.

Note I have already drilled some holes to attach the section of joystick and plumbing. All that's left is to put it all together!

So next I put it all together. I added some light weathering to the interior green: a little brown wash and some silver pencil for chipping. Not much, just a little.

I also added an information plate created in TurboCAD and printed on photo paper.

Finite! I have added additional completion pics to the RFI section.
