  1. Damn Gazza, you blew me away with the foiled B-29 while I was following along, and now I find out about THIS!!! Awesome work mate, inspirational stuff. Cheers, D
  2. G'day Nige, great to see your awesome Jug here mate !! Cheers, D
  3. No worries Nick, just head into your local tackle store and ask for the finest diameter braid in a natural or smoke colour and you should be set !! Cheers, Damian
  4. Thanks Matt. The only AM I used on this build were Eduard PE belts and Master Details Resin horizontal stabilizers. The cockpit "prop" is plastic coated wire, they type that you find holding kids toys in the packaging, with all but about 6mm of plastic stripped off. Cheers, D
  5. Thanks Brian, I didn't think I was THAT computer-illiterate !! I love PB, and I will try the Photoshop resizing before uploading to PB as you suggest. Cheers, D
  6. Ok let's see if this one is BIGGER Edit: Ok, I give up, you will get small pics.
  7. Thanks again for the positive comments guys. I had a go at resizing in photobucket, not sure if it was successful but here's a few more shots for you . . . . More to come, stay tuned Edit: Resizing = Fail, will try again
  8. Hi again guys, and thanks very much for the warm welcome and comments. This was my first ever 1/32 build, and my first Bf 109, first time using resin after-market parts, and first attempt at antenna wire !! There were a few tense moments and some choice language as I worked out these new techniques, but I took my time and I am very happy with the end result. Nick, the antenna wire is braid fishing line, Berkeley Fireline to be precise. I thought it would be good to try out as it has a metallic sheen, a twisted braid make-up, and is zero stretch. The blobs, my feeble attempts at insulators, are drops of superglue applied with a toothpick and painted Tamiya Gunmetal. Chees, Damian
  9. Hi all, newbie here with some pics of my most recent completed kit. It's the Hasegawa 1/32 Bf 109 G-10, but I used the markings from a Revell K-4 because I liked the scheme. Paints are Tamiya and Gunze acrylics with Tamiya flat black enamel heavily thinned for the panel line details. I would really appreciate some comments, advice, critique as I have a lot to learn and I have seen some stunning work here !! I have lots of WIP pics if anybody is interested, and a stack of pics of the finished article on my club site http://www.essmc.org.au/damian_rigbys_bf109.html Cheers, Damian
  10. My first attempt at posting pics here on LSP so please forgive me if it goes pear-shaped. Here's what I have done to the Revell 1/24th Opel Blitz for my dio My Hasegawa 1/24th Willys And some Trumpeter figures given to me by a fellow club member All WIP to go with the VFS P-47 waaaaaay down the track once I get some skills. I also had a brief dialogue with a guy in Canada who was starting to resin-cast some 1/24th dio accessories and promised to send me some prototypes to check out, but I haven't heard from him for ages so I'm not sure where that went ??? Cheers, Damian
  11. Thanks guys, good to be here. Kev, I'm a fellow Melbournian, outer northeast suburbs. Getting seriously back into modelling over the last year or so after a lengthy break. You'll be hearing plenty more (and getting a few daft questions) from me for sure. Cheers, D
  12. Hi all, newbie warning !! I've just joined the LSP forums following a heads-up from a fellow Aeroscale member. The mere propsect of a 1/32 P-61 has just set me frothing at the mouth. You have just rocked my world bigtime !! I will be checking in on this thread daily, perhaps even hourly, now that there's a hint of a kit in the wind. Rest assured, there will be one (or several if the minister for war and finance can be muffled) going into my stash. Cheers, Damian
  13. Hi all, I will be keeping a close eye on this thread as I'm in the same boat. I am planning a monster dio with a VFS P-47, Revell Opel Blitz cargo truck, Italeri Opel Blitz firetruck, Hasegawa Willy's and trailer combo, and whatever extras I can cobble together. I picked up the Tamiya garage crew and Fujimi rally car crew sets, and will do some basic mods to back-date them, but I'm resigned to scratchbuilding some jerry cans and 44 gallon drums. Perhaps some resin-casting will be in order if they turn out ok ?? Cheers, Damian
  14. Hi all, newbie here with my first post on LSP forums. I have the Kitsworld 1/32 P-47 "Ole **** II/Look No Hands" set waiting for my current build, and I have just recieved the newly released 1/48 P-61 Nose Art set which contains markings for 6 aircraft. I have 3 P-61's in the stash and can't wait to get stuck in now there are some options (my all-time fave aircraft). One thing to note is that the decals sets only include the aircraft specific markings (serials, crew details, nose art), so you still need to use the kit generic markings (stars and bars, walkways etc.). I have only heard good things about the quality of these decals from those who have used them, and I will post my opinion once I've had a go as well. I received an email recently from kitsworld with news of their release later this year of markings for 1/72 and 1/48 B-17's just in case anybody is interested. Cheers, Damian
