  1. Finally, a producer whose box art reflects all the "flak" the kit will receive from potential buyers
  2. A few years ago there was an ebay seller from Germany offering knock-offs of OOP Cutting Edge 1/48 U-2/TR-1 resin detail/correction sets. The parts looked to have been recasts using original CE parts to make new molds, and he went so far as to copy instruction sheets and card headers from the originals. IIRC, CE complained to ebay, but got no relief.
  3. Like “Flyboys” (and many other war films) historical/technical accuracy is not the objective. . .
  4. Undercarriage lever a bit sticky, was it, Sir? Well, I wouldn’t tell the C/O that if I were you!
  5. Gonna make for some disappointed ebay scalp. . . Oops, I meant sellers!
  6. Don’t wish to rain on your parade, but the “red dope showing through” to the inner surface of the fabric covering ANY of MvR’s Tripes is highly unlikely. The red pigment was applied to an already painted/sealed factory finish.
  7. Sorry, but that grass is TOTALLY the wrong shade of green (I had to find SOME nit to pick!)
  8. I don’t know why, but to me the “bubble top” Ki-100 is esthetically more pleasing than the Ki-61. Just couldn’t happen with a radial-engined Bf-109 (where’s that “Ew” emoji??).
  9. Indeed, every bit as striking as any Folgore out there, and superbly finished!
  10. Stay away from the 1/1 scale resin cake with the LED candles!
  11. Or is it that these deaths could have been prevented?
  12. It seems in poor taste, but I can’t put my finger on exactly why. What’s the difference between modeling the Titan and the Titanic? Human hubris seems to connect both their fates. . .
  13. Yet another museum piece in search of a suitable museum!
  14. Actually, that works! In my stash of cuttin’ tools, I just found an 8mm(?) diameter xacto handle with a No. 15 Rib-Back surgical blade securely in place. No flex, no wobble. . .
