marauderdriver
While working on my F-105 in the Air War in Vietnam GB and kinda wishing I could do a NMF, I looked around my room and relized that I have a BUNCH of Korean War aircraft in my stash. :hmmm:HMM! From my ceiling hangs my HB F-84E in foil :hmmm:HMM! F-84, F-86, F-80, F-51, Corsairs, Skyraiders, Panthers. Mig 15, Yaks, Stormoviks, HELOS, Meteors , Sea Furies and that was just off the top o' my little noggin! US, Great Britian, South Africa, Australia, Korea South and North. I know that there is a GB ending soon and we will want to put something in it's place, so tell US what you THINK Thanks Jack Edited August 3, 2014 by marauderdriver Girlscanplay2, LSP_Paul and Harold
LSP_Kevin
Jack, we've started a discussion at staff level about what the next GB might be, and this is one of the mentioned topics. Another is "Between the Wars". This might be a better option to offer a little bit of contrast from the Vietnam GB, rather than have Vietnam and Korea running concurrently as the only two Group Builds. Then, we could do Korea after Vietnam (the opposite of the way it really happened!). Kev Harold and Derek B
stikpusher
Korea I am certainly game to partake in... Between the Wars, maybe, depending upon the parameters.
Zero77
I like the idea of the Korean air war. But that's true it's quite close of the Vietnamese subject. And yes, 2 GB about some wars are a bit redundant, that'd be better to have another kind of GB (civilian aircrafts or racers, or GB based on something different like the "anything but injected plastic", or the "OOB only" GB) For a next "war" GB, what about a kind of "War over desert", which could gather all the war over desertic places : WW2 battle of the desert involving germans britishs italians americans and a few french under Vichy colors, all the israeli wars, french Algeria, Spain forces in Marocco, Iraq 1 et 2, Lebanon, Iran/Iraq, Afghanistan (both Russian war and Nato war), Indo-pakistanese and so on... The involved aircraft and countries would be plethoric ! Germany, USA, Russia, UK, France, Italy, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Israel, Lybia, Iran, India, Pakistan.... And the aircraft : Bf-109, Avia S-199, Spitfire, Sea fury, Meteor, P-47, P-51, P-40, C.202, C.200, G.50, CR.32, CR.42, T-6, Corsair, Skyraider, Mig-15/17/19/21/23/29, Su-25, Mirage III, Kfir, F-14/15/16/18, A-6/7/10....... Girlscanplay2
Jack, I like your Korean war Idea! This is the kind of subject that not allot of people know about, or the history. I think it brings to the forefront of the kinds of Aircraft that you don't typically see. I love history can you tell. Just my two cents worth. LSP_Kevin
I'm happy to run with a Korean War group build guys, just not concurrently with the Vietnam one. It's one for 'down the track'. Kev Girlscanplay2 and LSP_Paul
LSP_Paul
I'd support a Korean War Group Build 100%. All of the variety of aircraft and countries that could be represented by readily available injection molded kits, many of them not requiring tons of correction sets and mass amounts of aftermarket this and that to look the part.. Also, The world is losing many Korean War Vets at a staggering rate. I'd love to be able to present a model to a senior citizen who served or thier family members at the VA and say thank you one more time. Lee White
Strangely enough, I had the same idea when I dug out my EF-10B, known during the Korean war as the F3D-2. It looks great in its flat black and red scheme! Girlscanplay2

Kev Kevin, I'm all for it, but like you said, those of us neck deep in the Vietnam build are pretty much tapped for time. I'm so deep I've put my own projects away for now...
