huey
Fantastic job !! Congrats i just got checked out on the real thing (N9767 based in Melun France www.ffwm.fr)1 month ago. I don't see it in the pics, so did you think about the propeller governor cables? I join a link but I'm 99/% sure that on the PBY the cables go to the 2 oclock position viewed facing the engine on the starbord engine. I ll check next time the port motor http://cyberplasticmodeler.blogspot.ch/2012/06/engine-walkaround-vol4.html Just a modeler admiring a great job and willing to help Cheers Gerald kkarlsen
kkarlsen
Update on the build: So how do you display this 'monster' ? Some time ago I decided not to build the outer wings... That means opening the wing ends and showing the interior structure of the wing. This sketch shows how I imagine the outcome... kkarlsen
First I had to remove the ends of the wing. To do the interior of the wings etc. i got HPH to send me some of the cutaway kit parts. These are the two elements build to go into either end of the wing. HPH parts + scratched wing parts... Squizzy 78
I've been toying with the idea of posting a WIP thread, but I'd be so far out of my depth with builds like this on the website. Kent, this is absolutely amazing work you're doing, although I can't achieve it, I'm learning by watching masters like yourself. Great job. kkarlsen
brahman104
That's unreal mate! I'm impressed by the sketch too.... how did you do that? Craig kkarlsen
kkarlsen
That's unreal mate! I'm impressed by the sketch too.... how did you do that? Craig Thanks again all of you! Great that you liked the idea of not doing the wings? I was a little anxious how your reaction would be... The PBY sketch was made in Photoshop using different filters Right now I'm figuring out how to do the tail. Now that I have the HPH cutaway parts, I think I will be doing the rudder and one elevator partly cutaway too... Regards: Kent
