1/32 Lockheed Hudson (Tigger/I.D)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I've been a busy boy recently and haven't done much modelling but I'm just getting back into it... Kev kindly PM'd me saying I could put this into this GB.. So I will :)

I haven't touched this now for ages, what you see was all done around Jan/Feb time this year.. Just three photos now to bring it up to date and where I'll be starting this GB from.

As for a colour scheme, I am still undecided. I wanted to do it in white Coastal Command scheme, but that meant building the turret, then I found a white turretless Coastal Command that ferried an officer around... but then I found a lovely desert camouflage scheme too OR my last option is an RAAF's No.2 Air Ambulance unit.

I still haven't finished a vacform yet, my Sea Wolf is about 70%, and the IL-76 conversion is about 10% done! So if I finish this before them this will be my first completed vacform. :)

Here it is cut off the backing, it measures in at 2' wide..!

The inside work so far, curtains made from milliput, floor etc made from 2mm plasticard.

and another over view with the windows cut out,

Thanks for looking in, see you on the next update! ;)

Brilliant, loving the work that you have done so far :)

The Hudson is one of those unsung warhorses that did a sterling job during the war, so I expect that your model will look fantastic once completed.

Cheers

Derek

Thanks guys, I've been really getting into this and the 48th Corsair I'm on at the moment, will be throwing some paint on the interior soon too :D

Kev I didn't realise you were moving threads, I jump the gun there.. If it's easier, lock my old thread? I shall use this one all the time now.

Thanks Tnarg, I'm currently working all hours under the sun as it's school holidays, our busiest time so I haven't touched this yet. My aim is to get the interior done, paint and complete for Scale Model World in November. Then that'll leave me a few extra months to crack on with it, all being well.......

Any more progress on this build Radleigh?

Hi Tom, I do need to update this as I have done more... not as much as I would like though due to me working all the hours god sends still :(

I'm cracking on slowly and tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if it's only 50% done for SMW 2014!

Any progress is some progress...

It's a pain when work gets in the way of one's hobby... I always remember what a wise grandparent once told me... work to live, not live to work...

Being a teacher, I make the most of that rule ;)

I'll look forward to seeing your progress when you get around to updating us.

Hey Radders, how goes it....

I guess being EASTER holiday break for the kids you will not have time to post... Or for yourself... :)

Update when you can...GOOD LUCK(not that you need it as your work is super).

Hi maru5137,

Sorry for getting back late... I don't have kids(!) but school holidays are a busy time for me at work... and I'm currently moving house too, everything is packed away but I do plan on getting some more done on this as I want to take it to SMW this year for the 32ndSIG table!

I will get an update done once I'm in the new gaff and the internet is all up and running! :)

Just checking in and updating.

Have had a back operation last week which went OK, but it was only a temp fix for my problem, so for that reason I haven't even touched a kit as I just don't have the energy when I get home from work.. it's draining the life out of me. Hopefully in 10 weeks (ish) when I've had the proper injections and recovered from it, I should be back to normal, hopefully!

Where I'm sat though right now, I can see my Hudson, I moved into this house and had it out right from the start with every intention to get it done....and I will :)

Your health and well-being are obviously more important than a plastic kit mate, so take care of yourself and get back to it (and us) when you can. We can always move the thread over the WiP forum if you miss the deadline.
