Yeah, saw that the other day so put my order in. Interestingly though Hannants are calling it Hi-Tech but given its just nearly half the price of the Tempest I dont think thats right.

Think you're right, the only 1/32 Hi Tech release according to the info so far is the recently released Tempest V kit.

Like many, perhaps most, I don't have a tremendous amount of references for these early Yak types, but enough to know that I think it's a mighty cool looking aircraft. If I can swing it, I may need to put one of these on my "to get" list, one of the very few newer releases that really appeals to me.

The Yak-3 actually entered service much later than the Yak-1/7/9. Thus, the -1/7/9 are the "early Yak types", and the -3 is the late type. In fact, the Yak-3 was the last Yak fighter design to see WWII service. 

 

Looking forward to the kit, but somewhat disappointed that it is the -3.
