Hawkwrench
Don't know if this should belong on the WIP thread or here, because it's going to be put on a 1/32 helicopter diorama, so I'll put it here unless the mods want to move it. This station is used around various Army Airfields. They sit on the flightline in between aircraft and are a place where someone can dispose of any FOD they find as well as it serves as a storage for fuel samples that aircrews pull as part of their preflight. This will be part of a diorama involving a TH-67 Creek sitting on the flightline down at Ft. Rucker. Here's a pic of what my diorama will sort of look like, but a little different. More pics to follow. Tim Edited August 12, 2017 by Hawkwrench Gazzas and LSP_K2
Hawkwrench
Here's the beginning of the station. I scaled down the actual measurements in 1/32 scale and it came out to be 24mm square base, 24 mm for the sides, and 12mm square for the lid. I used .020 sheet styrene for the base and used 4.8 mm I-beam strip for the middle support. I then glued a 12 mm square piece of .040 to the top. Comments welcome! Hawkwrench
Here's the rough shape: Just a little bit of sanding on the lid to square it up and then I'll be ready for all the little details, (lid handle, lock, and louvers) C&C welcome! Hawkwrench
I'll start a WIP for the dio very soon. I guess it can go in the work in progress thread. Tim

Hawkwrench
So tonight, I put on the resin louver vents and top hatch rivets along with the beginning of the latch mechanism. Those resin louver decals are the cat's meow! Tim Edited September 5, 2017 by Hawkwrench mustang1989
