Trumpeter 1/32 P-40F Soon to be Released??

In my most recent email ad from Hannant's, I see among the listed “future releasesâ€, a Trumpeter 1/32 P-40F newly listed. Should we really expect a 1/32 P-40F soon?

By the way, I saw no Trumpeter TBD on the list. I have given up on ever seeing that kit from Trumpeter.

While I would welcome a 1/32 P-40F, I worry that Trumpeter will screw it up— lots of important differences with a Merlin-powered P-40. Hard to beat Derek Bradshaw's P-40F/L conversion for the Hasegawa kits now offered by Grey Matter.

Yes, I was aware that Trumpeter had listed various P-40's before, but I don't remember them listing Merlin-powered P-40's. Also, I thought it significant that Hannant's suddenly listed only the P-40F as a coming release and is apparently taking pre-orders for it. Makes me wonder if they know something or not.

I have my doubts - trumpy has had several 1/32 P40s labeled new in the catalog for about as long as the TBD...

Yes, there was a lively discussion about the P-40F box art last month

I'm still wondering if this means we will, in fact, see the Trumpy F-100F and maybe even the Dvastator?

But how can I pass up on this?

Because the nose of the new Trumpeter kit is completely screwed up (not to mention an apparent reprise of Trumpeter's famous shallow P-40 cockpit):
