BloorwestSiR
And we're back with some pics of the IP: Here it is attached to the cockpit floor. One thing led to another and I finished the sidewalls and installed the cockpit. I then left off by joining the fuselage halves together. So quite a bit of progress for one night. BloorwestSiR
Thanks everyone! With the fuselage closed up, I managed to make some significant progress last night. I attached the tail surfaces and then joined the fuselage to the wing assembly. It's really starting to look like a Spitfire now. mozart
I like to see the plane modelled with its control surfaces "angled" Carl, helps to give a bit of character though for me, being a little clumsy at times I'd worry about those pointy cannons sticking out the front!! geedubelyer
Great stuff Carl. She's coming on in leaps and bounds now that you've got the complicated and fiddly work on the cockpit out of the way. Good job. I guess the next time consuming task will be the engine? Keep at it. Cheers.

Max I like them slightly off centre as well Max. To me, it brings a bit more life to the model. The cannons are fairly secure with the way that Tamiya designed them. I'd be more inclined to knock off any antennas. Great stuff Carl. She's coming on in leaps and bounds now that you've got the complicated and fiddly work on the cockpit out of the way. Good job. I just realised after your post I don't have any pics of it completed so I'll have to take some shortly. beautiful work Thanks Maru!

BloorwestSiR
Here's some pics of the completed engine assembly. I should have this installed shortly and then can start on the painting. Shaka HI
Nice! I guess that's what it should look like all built up? Why the copper/brass? Some artistic license? I like it!
BloorwestSiR
Nice! I guess that's what it should look like all built up? Why the copper/brass? Some artistic license? I like it! Thanks Shaka! The ADH book on building the Tamiya Spitfire showed the pipes as being copper and said that the interior green in the instructions was an error. I think someone else on here said they could be either. I like the copper look myself so that's what I went with. Shaka HI
Ok...cool. I'll do the same; otherwise, it's just black/green/dab of silver. Definitely adds interest!
