dmthamade
Great scratch work on the nose gear. Do you need to rework the mains as well? Don

BloorwestSiR
You re a lucky guy! Cherie, come here please, and read! ;-) Nice work Carl! Fab Thanks Fab! I guess I am a lucky guy. Awesome legs! When I read that, ZZ Top's "She's got Legs" pops into my mind. Great scratch work on the nose gear. Do you need to rework the mains as well? Don Thanks Don. The main gear legs look OK at the moment. They're a lot simpler so I don't think I'll need to do anything there.
BloorwestSiR
Carl, SUPERB scratch building...I am very impressed by your workmanship.. MARU 5137 Very nice work! Cool with the springs! Something I need to check out and add to my scratch build box! HÃ¥kan Thanks Maru and HÃ¥kan! The springs were meant for mecha kits originally I think but there's so many ways they can be used. And they're fairly inexpensive too.
BloorwestSiR
I glued the two spring units to the gear leg. They're not 100% accurate in placement but it's the best I could do. With that out of the way, I decided to add a brass tube as a brace to the main wing. Lining up the holes in the wing was a bit more challenging. The second one went a bit better. And the wings are now on. The joint isn't bad, I think I can get away with some Mr Surfacer to fill it. I have to say I'm very happy with how it's been going together. No real faults yet in terms of the fit. Carl
BloorwestSiR
Nice work with springs and wings! HÃ¥kan Thanks HÃ¥kan! The springs now reach the ceiling of the gear bay. They're not very visible but are an improvement over the kit part. Carl

BloorwestSiR
So I've made a bit more progress. I filled the wing root gaps with Mr Surfacer and rescribed the panel lines. I then turned my attention to keeping the plane from being a tail sitter. I epoxied about 18 pennies into the fuselage. This should be enough but I'll double check when it's time to add the engine nacelles. If I need more, I can add some in there. In case anyone was wondering, pennies are no longer legal tender in Canada so I might as well put them to use.
