  1. Hi all, I just received this set from PhotoCut and thought I would share it with you, Its for the Airfix 109 e and is quite a nice set I got mine direct From Photocut oletcherfred@yahoo.com
  2. Hi Jeroen I too have purchased this kit and some aftermarket bits including the master gun barrels, the only thing that strikes me looking at the kit guns is that they are too small, the gun bodies are underscale, so are the magazine drums. I have some aires drums and they make the guns look silly, any suggestions for replacements Regards gk
  3. If your master is a success i think you will be inundated with orders, I for one need two, they are the only after market goodies that you can't get for the trumpeter F4U-1, Master casters cowl ring is a gem but made to fit the kit part so also too small in diameter, cut and stretch maybe. Now maybe I can use that Aires engine I built that wont fit in the kit cowl. Nice work gk
  4. Hi Nick Looks like you,ve nailed this one pretty well, i finished mine acouple of weeks ago, never did get those wheel well inserts to fit, i tore them out and used a little white glue and painted them with brown oil paint. i did have a few fit problems joining the wings to the fuselage. now where's that Trump 109e ? regards gk
  5. Not at all, i have since encountered a warped wing, the only explanation is i should have spread the fuse walls slightly, fixed now, took out the wheel well liners and put them in again, much better this time, the last eduard kit i built was someone elses plastic, this is eduards and it shows, no pins to locate things etc, should i have thought about it i would have taken the aproach as i would a classic airframes kit and made my own pins, nice finish detail but a pain in the bum to fit together cheers gk
  6. Hi Nick just to let you know foot in gob, i got full into my same build, a few probs with the pit, joined the fuse and put it in from below, worked better, had an idea to put the aires engine in, no go so i glued the cowl shut, no fit issues there, the wings don't go together too well, and those wheel well liners are not so good, so you see i'm glad you're doing well with yours, will post a pic when i have the airframe in some kind of order best regards gk
  7. Yup, get your point Just to say i've started, the wheel well liners: the first i tried to make conform to the plastic, wrong i got the same gap as you, the second i rolled and joined and inserted into the plastic, no gap, time will tell if it fits into the wing. The oxygen bottle i trimmed and the PE part to suit. Thats as far as i have got Hope this helps, (me and you and some others) Best regards gk
  8. MMMMM. it's so long since i posted i think this is how............... I have the same kit and PE set and have looked at many on line builds and have to say i think most of your problems are self induced, i will say i have not built this yet and will be willing to be bludgoned to death if proved wrong, in your pic from the rear the airframe is bent, from the bottom the panel lines don't line up, (in the real thing this also occurred in later builds as time and funds grew short) in kit form i don't think this is so, i don't think you would need to cut the stays on the horizontal stbs to get them right, just move them out a little, Brett green built this with few problems, Frank Crenshaw also but with some mods to panel lines and intake ducts. So far i have yet to come across a kit that needed a barrel load of putty, this one certainly not. i built the Cutting edge 109 a/b/c/d conversion of the hase 109 in 1/32 and although i encountered a warped fuselage of my own making the only filler i used was a little CA glue I'm going to get it out from under the bed now and have a look (and the 109) hope it goes alright Best regards GK
  9. easy does it, if you look at a lot of luftwaffe aircraft you can't see the rivets under a coat of paint, cowl fasteners etc yes but many of those rivets just can't be seen. regards gk
  10. Well i have got this far, all i have to say is i wouldn't do it this way again, i have a few pics of wip but have not had the time to upload, forgive me, but here are a few tips: build the fuselage and bottom wing and paint where you cant get to when all together, make a beam so they fit like the top one build and paint the top wing and paint the underside paint all the struts assemble the whole thing rig it: some of the wires go into the same holes, so you need to put them in together before adding some c.a. glue. paint all the bits you didn't before and add the fiddly bits at the end hope this helps, if you don't follow this sequence you risk the wings not fitting (even if you test fit), i know that's why mine didnt fit and had to re-rig it. i felt like binning it as the wires continually pinged off. I'll post again when i finish her. cheers gk
  11. i believe it's loosing your cherry, and i won't go there either gk
  12. this is what you want, out of stock at the moment try giving them a call and see when they will be re-stocked http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=TM24010 cheers gk
  13. Have you tried Hannants for the Techmod decals, they do stock thier range, at least some of them, http://www.hannants.co.uk nice start regards gk
  14. is this the right way to do this? reply to my own post? here is the pit i did some more work after this was taken and the fuselage is together now. cheers gk
  15. So here is the dash assembly, the instructions say put the decals on the front but as its quite lumpy i decided to glue them to the back, i glued them to a piece of thin plastic card and then glued the sandwich shut, used maskol to mask the dial faces and painted it black: more later gk
