  1. ya i was told the ca 15 probably wouldnt happen I would love to build one in 1/24 scale. in my opinion that plane looks even slicker than the mustang. I am sending you an e-mail about flying online.
  2. Have you played the IL2 series? they have several addons Forgoten Battles then Aces expansion now a stand alone useing the same game engine call Pacific fighters! I absolutely love this sim. Id have ya bata test it but the code is secret and they use thier own bata testers. I wont even get to fly it until i pick a copy off the shelves. here are some links to the project. here is the detail level they expect. its the gladiato cockpit. http://www.il2sturmovik.com/forgotten_batt..._cockpit_04.jpg http://www.il2sturmovik.com/ and this is my progress so far. i have a loooong way to go! http://www.geocities.com/jkporcupine/tempo...l?1081254696246 Thanks agian !
  3. I have the flight manual from the commonwealth AC company it has a few shots but their not the best. I Would love to go to temora but i unfortunetly live in the USA well not unfortunetly i spose I am happy here! LOL! I Just have had a love of australia for many years and since my fiance just got back from visiting friends there last year I am addicted!! the country is amazing to me from its history to its wildlife! I just took on the project because i belive that the country gets overlooked all the time, Especially its aviation history. the commonwealth company made some beautiful planes that should be represented. everyone wants the P-51 or the Bf109 but there were others too. there is more to australia than the crocodile hunter!! and this is a chance for people to realize this.
  4. Hello I am curently working on an extremely Detailed 3D model of a CAC Boomerang for an up comming Combat flight simulator. I am makeing Ca 12 and a Ca 13 models of this plane. the cockpit needs to be extremely detailed so I need technical drawing of this plane as well as detailed cockpit placards. I am doing this as a Volunteer 3rd party modeler. It is sort of a resume piece for me. I have a deadline of 4 months. this is a huge task and i know how good you guys are at getting research. ive contacted the museum at point cook in australia that has a boomerang in great condition. I know this isnt a Large scale model but i think its relavent to us all. if i do a good job. we can all fly this plane "in virtual reality of course" plus its a great chance for Australia and New Zealand to be represented in a major flight sim. The aussies did thier part in the war effort, and heres a chance to give those pilots some well deserved recognition. Thanks a ton and sorry this is a little off topic!
  5. I am building an airfix 109 and i just compared it to several different 1/24 scale print outs and it seems the body is about 8-9mm too long? any body else notice this or am i crazy? it seems fairly correct from the panel line at the rear end of the canopy to the tail. so the issue is in front of that. it almost seems the canopy is way too long , with the center canopy 2 mm too long and the front wind screen 4mm too long. hmm odd! small numbers but it adds up!??
  6. wow thats looking god so far! in that photo it looks like they have it right in that eaw skin http://www.sandbaggeruk.com/deanH/FinRacing1092.jpg
  7. I cant find the areo detail book anywhere. I am on the waitinglist on several sites. sooner or later ill get it iam sure!
  8. I was thinking about a locking mech but wasnt sure. Ive got some pics being sent to me to confirm. as for how much. I dont know? what is a resonable price for a resin kit. I have never purchased one or even looked into it. any sugesstions ? I was thinking $80. too much, too low? thanks for the interest though it means a lot to me. and your input is always welcome. my inbox is open day or night. thanks agian. Joshua Knuth
  9. OK Its still going very well. although my camera is not so no pics today or for a little while, Doh!! I am working on the cockpit and front landing gear at the moment and have a few questions. I have tons of photos and drawings, but none of them show a spot on the landing gear that i need detail. its the small box shape at the front of the nose gear. I am attaching a photo with the area in question highlighted, and a photoshop drawing of the gear. can anybody help on this one?
  10. hey chris here are a few things to try. make a mini lathe. 1st do you have a multi speed dremal tool? 2nd take a small steel or brass rod. pick one that will be fairly thick, but still thin enough to fit in the dremal. cut it so its about three inches long. 3rd there are 2 matereals you can use. I prefer sculpy it is a polymer clay that can be baked in an oven. the other is a jewlers wax. 4th if you use the sculpy take out enough to create the shape of the filter and extra to carve off. 5th form the sculpy into a small cylinder, about the size of the filter. now flatten the cylinder and put a few drops of super glue on the rod and wrap the sculpy around it. 6th ok now bake the sculpy and after its cool place the rod end back into the dremel. now take a strong sharp knife and a file or even sand paper and turn on the dremel to its lowest setting and begin to shape the filter. 7th if the filter is in the closed position you can use the actual sculpy filter. if it is in the open position you may have to make a mold. it sounds weird but it works very well. this is how i make the blanks for some jewlery and various other metal parts. if you have any questions let me know.
  11. hey who knows it might just end the debate once and for all. the 109 is lookin fantastic i cant wait!!
  12. if any one is interested i have one that is unbuilt but opened that i have been trying to sell for the last year.
  13. hey chris I found this just loafing around on line http://www.virtualpilots.fi/feature/photor...llinportti2002/ You might think about contacting the museum for an official profile on your 109. Good luck maybee they can end the debate.
