Guest Peterpools
Anthony The speed brakes look great. Looking forward to seeing how the engine fan fronts will look using Chucks black and titanium mix. Keep 'em coming Peter
Anthony in NZ
Thanks guys Chucks method worked well. Thanks Chuck! I base coated with Mr Color Semi Gloss Black and then misted their Super Titanium color over the top until I got the desired effect comparing with photos. Looks spot on at the end of the intake trunking but I just cant seem to get a decent pic of it down there. Sitting in front of this is a row of stator vanes which I have made. This I think I will spray a mix of titanium and silver as this front row is a lot brighter. This then all sits behind the white trunking. Oh well, I guess its back to riveting again! Cheers guys Anthony mpk, Marcel111, F`s are my favs and 3 others
seiran01
Niiiiiice. Are there any updates on the Kahu cockpit parts? I'm starting to stockpile A4 kits, will probably do an ex-Aussie one first as that'll be easiest to pull off without aftermarket decals outside of the Ventura roundel sheets I already have. Anthony in NZ
Hi Mike An initial test print has been done to see how it needs to be split up. Kerry is working on splitting the panel into 2 or 3 sections for the 2 guys that are doing it for us....so far so good! Start stockpiling mate! Anthony in NZ
Si, I went back to do more riveting and saw that I need to make some of this. Being the APG-66NZ I cant use the Aires avionics bays as our Skyhawks had essentially an F-16 Radar and Avionics suite. So started carving up the Aires bay to see what I could use. Now I have some structure in here I will need to spend some time cleaning it up and splashing some Mr Surfacer around so the channel sections so they don't look like bits of plastic glued together. Looks like I need to add rivets too... Still lots to go but its been a nice diversion from riveting Thanks for looking in Cheers Anthony Edited February 3, 2017 by Anthony in NZ Harold, Whitey, mpk and 4 others

Anthony in NZ
Thanks guys! Archer rivets on... Just primed over the top and they worked perfectly. Might need to paint this now before moving on to making the rest of it or I wont be able to paint it all when finished. mpk
I don't check in here enough. The great thing is I'm saving this for when I build my own RNZAF F4U. Then I'll be all over it. Awesome stuff. I keep waiting for that kit mate. It's 1 1/2 meters away. Anthony in NZ
Anthony in NZ
Thanks guys! Not sure I am keen on the electronics LOL! Today I made the mounting section for the Antenna mounting and the transmitter tray in the nose. That means all the structure is done. I am just adding final rivets now. My eyes are going fuzzy, so I will probably finish them after work tomorrow. Thanks again for checking in chaps! Anthony in NZ
Thanks Guy Still pressing rivets into the structure and hope to have an update on the avionics bay in the next few days... In the meantime, some inspiration! KiwiZac, private_hell and mpk
