Revell ASK21 glider

Hello folks,

Last year I was the lucky winner of a model kit in the LSP raffle. Iain kindly donated this Revell kit of the ASK 21 glider which fits in perfectly with this GB.

Civilian aircraft are not my usual fare so this is an ideal opportunity to try something new.

For now this is a space setter post but I'll be back with more as soon as I get the box open.

Cheers.

Hi Max, hi Mark, thanks for the interest. I should be getting into this during the week, all being well.

The glider kits from Revell are all cracking little models!

Hi Tim, it could make a nice contrast to a certain Air Cadet mkiii at some point, eh?

Hi Brian, I'll try to post up some sprue shots soon.

Cheers

Hi everyone,

Since we don't get to see many of these gliders built I'll begin this project with some sprue shots if I may?

Please forgive the poor photography. As it turns out, white sprues are rather difficult to light consistently and well.

The kit consists of four main sprues in white plastic plus one clear sprue with the two canopies.

I shall begin by following the instructions which are the typical Revell style.

The cockpits are the first stages.

Here is a look at the two IPs.

And the pilot/student (passenger?) buckets

By luck more than judgement I've managed to make the seat belt and seat cushion detail apparent in the two images above. In fact, it is really quite soft.....

First steps will be to see what it looks like under paint. It's difficult to tell from looking at the white plastic how it will turn out.

I'll keep you posted.

Cheers.

Thanks Stefan, I hope you enjoy it.

Wow Martin! Those photos are perfect. Thank you so much. Where do you find all of this stuff?

Hi Mike, good to see you. Glad to hear that the kit is fun. When I get some time I hope to get stuck in.

Cheers.

Hey mate, it's been a while since we've heard from you on this one, how's it going?

Hi Brad, thanks for asking.

Unfortunately I've nothing to declare as I have not touched this model since my last update. In fact, I have n't done any modelling at all and suspect that, sadly, I shall miss the deadline on this GB.

I cannot muster any interest in the hobby right now so apologise to everyone for not getting involved more.

Hopefully if (when) my mojo returns I will finish this sailplane and I'll post pics in RFI then.

Cheers.
