Shawn M
these are the cable hooks used on carrier planes prior 1930 together with tail hooks here you can see that arresting cable system on flight deck and retracted hooks on F3B jan Wow, thats kinda what I was thinking but it seems like a nose over/new prop with every landing idea Thank you for the clarification and pics! Joel_W
I had absolutely no idea that such a weird cable system was used at one time. As Shawn said, it sure looks like every good landing was cause for a new prop and some major work on the landing gear. Might have been easier to just fly into a very large net. Jan_G
thanks guys for your nice words, means much to me I have finished rigging, quite easy, even I did not use any turnbuckles (not enough evidence how they should look like) and instead of flat wire I have used regular EZ line Need to find solution for flat wires for future builds, I have RFC flat wire which was sold by WNW but its light grey and looks undersized for biplanes from 1930`s, and my attempts to paint it in different colors turned out badly Still need to finish base wetahering I can say that this one is completed Here you can find RFI thread with cmpleted model Now its time for one drink and its time to finish Uhu thanks for looking jan Edited February 12, 2017 by Jan_G Hubert Boillot, Shawn M and ClumsyDude

Jan_G
Finally I managed to finish the base this shows flight deck of US carriers before the WWII. Painted all deck metal part with navy dark deck gray, and the wood flight deck left in their natural color. I will use this base probably for my next build of Vought SBU, because it fits better to late 1930`s after gloss coat and wash and after light gray filter, matt coat and pigments (light dust and black) some photos with F3B in RFI thread thanks for looking and all your comments jan
