LSP_K2
Tires/wheels given base coats, and wheel covers scratched up a bit with a colored pencil. (Mud splatters will be added later.) Girlscanplay2 and Vandy 1 VX 4
LSP_Ray
What color did you use for the rubber, Kev? I like it; the light grey-early rubber color looks really good. You using acrylics or enamels on this build?
LSP_K2
Thanks, Ray. Tires are Tamiya XF-75 IJN Gray, and so far, mostly acrylics, a combination of Gunze and Tamiya. I'll be using some oils and enamels later, but I'm trying to stick with acrylics as much as possible.
LSP_Ray
Good choice, Kev. I have been using Tamiya paints a lot lately, thinned with their lacquer thinner which works very well. I am normally a big enamel fan, but had a terrible experience with enamels and MIG washes.
LSP_Ron
I'm still enamel all the way, I can't make acrylics work and don't have the patients to re-learn 35 years of modeling experience on do's and don'ts The tire grey looks good K2

I am normally a big enamel fan, but had a terrible experience with enamels and MIG washes. I've used enamels and lacquers most of my life too, but as much as possible I'm using the acrylics more and more, especially with no paint booth set up yet. LSP_K2
Over the past week, I started receiving some little adders that will allow me to finish this off; Barracuda wrapped intakes and utterly gorgeous Master Spandau's. I expect to resume painting wings this afternoon. Girlscanplay2

LSP_K2
Thanks, Peter. This the blue that I somewhat arbitrarily picked for wing bottoms. I like it. Girlscanplay2
LSP_K2
Wing uppers now all painted up. I may have to repaint for more of a slant on lower wing, not real sure yet. These colors will also lighten as I proceed through further painting steps. Girlscanplay2
LSP_K2
I know that the exterior was covered with Birch plywood, but have no idea of the interior framing wood; might be Birch as well, but I don't think so. No matter though, just to establish some variation, interior framing has been base coated with a different color than what's used on fuselage interior, and that should give me some different shades of wood when I add the oils to follow. (Believe it or don't, both fuselage halves are the exact same color, but the photo implies otherwise.)
